If your flying out to Anchorage and heading south towards Seward, you might want to consider stopping by Exit Glacier. There are several hikes and breath taking views that surround the area. Located just on the outskirts of Seward, AK. There are three main hikes to do with the outer rim (about 1/2 mile) dropping you off on the rivers edge with the glacial view in the background. There's also the hike to the glacier itself (which is about 1/2 mile as well) and runs right along the edge of the glacier. If your into a more intense hike with outstanding views, then I would recommend the Harding Ice field Trail. It's a little difficult, but over looks Exit Glacier nearly the entire time and also overlooks the Harding Ice field far into the distance. I would be prepared on any on the hikes as I saw bears on 2/3 hikes. Also be prepared with plenty of water for yourself and snacks are always a good choice to bring along as well. Have fun, be safe, and enjoy the trip! Here are several pictures to give you a better idea and what you'll see.
